This is a powerful tool that can be used to quickly produce a plan for a review of literature or the discussion section of your thesis.  I have used this approach with a wide range of students over many years and believe that this simple method using the Thesis Tutor software can help many students to quickly produce a plan that can help to take some of the stress out of writing your thesis.  You may also find that this plan can help in further discussions with your supervisor.

The Thesis Tutor comprises two sections, a ‘whiteboard’ where you list your ideas concerning content and the second, a content planner arranged in table format.

Use the whiteboard function to list the main the main areas or ideas that you wish to explore.  At the same time think about each of these areas and see if you can break them down to sub areas.  Later you can copy and paste your ideas from the whiteboard into the content planner.  When you have completed this process you can export your plan to a spreadsheet and start to write your review or discussion.

You are free to use this application for 30 days from registration. After this time you will encounter a ‘nag screen’ at logon.  The purpose of this screen is to encourage users to make a contribution to the operation of the website.  This screen provides an opportunity to make a contribution to the costs associated with the operation of the site so that I can continue to provide a service to users.
