Job Description

The company's success is founded on its reputation for being a great employer and specifically having ambitious growth plans across the UK and in Europe, as the Quality/Improvement Manager you will be supporting the Staffordshire based Bostik Operations & Sales teams by delivering products matching customers' expectations in terms of Quality & Services level. You will ultimately ensure that process controls are suitable and sufficient to deliver repeatable product quality and sustainable improvement. You will be crucial in ensuring that new processes are assessed for risks to product quality, including the threat of micro-biological contamination and that process controls are put in place before production commences.

Key Responsibilities include:

-Ensuring that the Company's ISO9001 quality management systems are understood, implemented and applied, across the Stafford site
-Ensuring suitable control of non saleable stock both on site and at the off site warehouse
-Monitoring process controls are sufficient and being followed for the key processes
-Ensuring that the Operations Managers have the appropriate work instructions to support the processes within their area
-To tracks the hygiene status of at risk processes and follows up on any high results with the process managers
-To reduce the cost of quality by reducing the number of after sales complaints and by reducing the amount of any non saleable stock that is created by each process
-To contribute to the development of processes and systems by identifying areas for investment and by putting forward capital proposals
-To ensure that customer requirements are understood and that any customer complaints are appropriately investigated
-Ensures that management of change considers the impact on product quality

The Successful Applicant

A quality/production improvement specialist ideally with a Chemistry/Science or Food Science degree with an FMCG background which incorporates mixing, blending or comparable processes. The successful applicant will have experience applying quality management systems within a similar manufacturing organisation and have the ability to communicate cross functionally and drive change. In order to drive sustainable quality improvement you will have analytical and problem solving skills which you are able to communicate in writing and verbally at all levels of the organisation.
