Hi everyone,

I am interested in the process/Necessary ingredients to take a powder and turn it into a tablet whilst keeping it's nutritional value. I would then like to dissolve the tablet in water/milk/beverage.

Can anyone assist or give some direction?

Many thanks

Tablet production from a powder is very well described in many basic pharmaceutical textbooks. If you go to Google Books and search for "tablet manufacture from a powder" you will get an overview of the process.

At its simplest the powder is mixed with a filler and or binding agent e.g. lactose and compressed.

In practice particle size, moisture content and the type of binder / filler are important.

Again good information from some pharmaceutical textbooks is available on tablet solution.
