The IFST have a position statement on nanotechnology. This is available on their website at  http://www.ifst.org .
This position paper explains clearly what nanotechnology is, explains the role of naturally occurring nanoparticles in food and also deals with some potential concerns. It contains some important references to work in this area including reports from several governmental and scientific groups.

Nanoparticles are generally more reactive than larger particles and there are concerns about their potential ability to pass through intestinal barriers and also gain access to the brain. I am not sure that European scientists are necessarily more cautious than those in the US concerning nanotechnology as it might be applied to food.

If you put it this way, then it can poses certain thread but still I think that these materials are the future. Imagine the ability to tailor any molecules you want to. In the final stage we would be able to make almost anything out of the basic elements. Iam really glad that nanotechnology is taking the speed. Materials like graphene or fullerene are being used in wast number of different products now. It is also starting to be a very interesting business.
