Upgrade to PHP 7

   This website uses applications that use several programming languages including PHP. 

PHP will be upgraded to PHP 7 over this weekend. While every attempt will be made to minimise disruption,it is likely that there will be periods when the Harvard Referencing application will not be available.

However, when the upgrade has been finished the Subscription ice Cream Mix Calculator and the Harvard Referencing Application should work about twice as fast. The speed and memory use of PHP 7 running on a Windows Server is impressive!

The changes to the code of the ice Cream Mix Calculator have already been made and there should be no disruption to users.

Users hopefully will note a marked increase in the speed of most pages on this site.

Apologies for any disruption. All work should be complete by 18.00 hours (UK time) on the 8th October.
